downtown interviews

I've never had a "formal" job. I've done just about every whacko thing imagined: pianist for venues, farmer's markets, graphic design, piano accompanist, camp counseling, bean harvesting by hand, babysitting, pet sitting, yard work, and even ironing!

Real jobs + me = no luck. I've had about three job interviews, each of which ended tragically (one time the power blew out!)

So, on this freezing cold night, I wasn't expecting very much. I did remind myself to make eye contact, uncross my arms, and keep the conversation going. In reality, my hair was slapped in a messy bun, I was jumping back and forth trying to warm-up (wind chill of -2!), and I really didn't have any idea of what to say at all.
Plus, it was late. And I was pretty sure that I parked in an illegal parking spot. (It's not like you could see the curb under all the snow, anyway. . .)

It left an impression, apparently.
I got hired right on the spot.

  3. You got the job because you are the perfect option for any employer. They're gonna hire you of course, because you are just plain lovable. If they aren't captivated by your beauty, then your charm, and smooth, mature, womanly voice will draw them in. And WHAM! You got the job.

I'm so happy for you! ^_^

    2. Maybe it doesn't have to only be NGYC. Maddi should actually be next (still *a* camp person). Because, how will I ever convince Mr. Preston to let *all* of you off to counsel next summer? Perhaps if we stocked the Canteen with Old Glory merchandise....
