Turnabout Blouse / Modern Prairie Sewing

For once in the history of first-time-evers, my library had a craft book I wanted to read. Abigail Long's Modern Prairie Sewing had caught my eye a while back, but sadly sat on my shelf for lack of inspiration. My spur of the moment decision to make a Turnabout Blouse became an all morning endeavor. It was a super easy-peasy pattern that I easily lengthened and modified (no pleats in the back!) to my heart's content. ♥

I found some vintage linen and thought it would do nicely - since I don't believe in fabric shopping. Someday I'm going to run out of fabric scraps.
Notice the pleat and the bias neckline. Yes, I'm shamefully proud of that.

(p.s.) I'm quite aware my blouse does not match my skirt. YOLO.

It's...very versatile. Especially for hyper girls.

Extra P.s. I downloaded a free trial of photoshop. . .and I've had way too much fun. Plus, plastic bags make great lens-distorter-thingys. True story.

  1. Oh, my word. This photos are PERFECTION. And on the contrary, I think you rock the mismatched patterns perfectly! I can't get over your bias tape lines and your pleats and your beauty and your photography skills.
